- 살롱가 국립공원(Salonga National Park)은 아프리카에서 가장 규모가 큰 열대우림 보존지역이다. 콩고 강 중앙 유역의 외부와 단절된 지역에 있어 수로를 통해서만 접근할 수 있는 이 국립공원은 보노보(dwarf chimpanzee, Bonobo, Pygmy chimpanzee), 콩고공작(congo peacock, Congo Peafowl, Afropavo congensis), 둥근귀코끼리(forest elephant, Loxodonta cyclotis), 크로코딜루스 카타프락투스(African slender snouted crocodile, ‘false’ crocodile, Crocodylus cataphractus) 등 위기종의 서식지이다.
